From a design perspective, NappaTile’s flagship showroom presented several challenges. Not only did the space have a unique footprint (just seven feet deep and forty feet long), it needed a flexible solution that could easily be refreshed each year. To address these, I created a billboard-style showroom with three easy-to-update floating walls. The design celebrated NappaTile’s decorative wall product against a backdrop of the brand’s black and copper colors with whimsical touches like Italian monkey sculptures to tie in with NappaTile’s “Going Bananas” advertising campaign. The eye-catching space was designed to draw people away from the main elevator core (and their museum fatigue) as they walked NeoCon, North America’s largest design show.
