Expansion + Redesign
Working as a liaison between Indiana Furniture’s sales and marketing lead and their architectural firm, IA of Chicago, I led an extensive showroom expansion and redesign that met the company’s established goals (to improve the space’s functionality and present their product in a design-forward way) and was delivered on time and on budget. Extending the showroom to the outer ring of the Merchandise Mart allowed Indiana Furniture to gain more visibility on the main corridor of the building, and replacing the existing entrance with two expansive glass openings improved circulation into and out of the space and blurred the line between hallway and showroom. Inside, I created an open space anchored by a custom reception desk; soft gray tones and exposed concrete columns gave the space a current aesthetic that allowed Indiana Furniture’s products to shine.
